King Richard School has recently developed a bespoke assessment model to make progress and targets clear for all students. Rather than grades, the model relies on “Steps to Success”; Graded 1-21, student work is assessed to determine levels of progress.
We expect all students to make ‘Good Progress’ throughout their five years at King Richard. Those students who are struggling are provided guidance which can be viewed by parents or students in real time via our Assessment Portal (ePortal).
Students at King Richard School also benefit from Dedicated Time in lessons to support progress. Called ‘Dedicated Action and Reflection Time’, (DART) students have the opportunity to act on feedback provided, making amendments to demonstrate their progress to the next ‘step’.
