History – ‘Suffragette’

Last night, several year 11 History students visited the Odeon Cinema to see ‘Suffragette’. We have been learning about women in the twentieth century and the topic of political rights and freedoms forms a large part of our GCSE syllabus. The film was excellent and many of us were very moved by the true and inspiring story that highlights the painful sacrifices of working class women in the suffrage movement.

We concluded our evening by enjoying dinner out at Port Solent to discuss the film and enjoy plenty of ice cream!

Thanks to those year 11’s who attended and made it a really enjoyable evening.

Miss Williams.
