Wild in Art

The Lakeside North Harbour business campus is launching their very own Wild in Art Animal Arts Trail and asked the Year 9 students of King Richard School to work on a design to decorate one of their large fibreglass Elephants.

The selected group spent two days working with Paul and Clare, from local community arts company, Splodge Designs, painting the elephant which will form part of The Lakeside Animal Arts trail. The finished arts trail, to be launched in spring 2017, will display over 10 brightly decorated animals, both native and from around the world.

The brief allowed students to explore shape, pattern and colour. The final design that was chosen was one of an African sunset but other designs will also be used for a second elephant that Lakeside business campus have kindly donated to us for our new school.

Many thanks to everyone involved with the project and the students of year 9 for their creativity and hard work.
