Dear Parent/Guardian

I am delighted that you have chosen King Richard School for your child’s secondary education. With our new building opening in the autumn and plans for a new school day it is a very exciting time to be joining the school and it will be a great privilege to build their character and help shape their future over the next five years.  We will do everything we can to make sure their time with us is safe, happy and productive. Transferring to secondary school can cause confusion and anxiety and I am very keen to make sure that this isn’t the case for you and your family. Luckily we have a team of professionals at King Richard who have years of experience at ensuring the step up to our school runs as smoothly as possible and we have a number of processes in place to make sure that this is the case. The booklet and the papers here alert you to some of these events but primarily they are designed to answer some of the questions you may have about how things work here at King Richard. Experience tells us that these are the details you need now and further information will follow in due course.  However if there is more that you want to know then please do take the time to browse our website (www.kingrichardschool.net) which I hope you will find useful. If you can’t find what you are looking for then please do get in touch with me and I will be happy to answer your questions. I firmly believe that education is about partnership and it is what we do together that will bring the biggest benefits to your child. With this in mind there is some information I need to know from you and I ask that you fill in the data collection form and the Home-School Agreement and return this to the school by Friday 16 June. Our transition arrangements are taking shape and I would ask you to note these key dates for your diary:-

3rd and 4th July – two day taster at King Richard School

4th July 6.30-7.30 – Parents meeting at King Richard School I look forward to meeting you on the Tuesday 4th July.

Yours faithfully
