Many thanks to our special guests and all year 7 students who participated in another successful Beliefs and Culture Day last week. Students were able to engage with issues outside of normal curriculum time and enjoy interesting discussions and activities from a variety of spiritual and cultural perspectives.
Jonathan introduced the students to story telling and pagan traditions and Dave engaged students with ideas of Christianity and right and wrong. Later on, students enjoyed and introduction to Hinduism from Indri where they had the opportunity to look at costumes and artefacts. Stephen encourged much discussion surrounding stereotypes and the relationships between some religious beliefs and extremism.
The comments from the students were extremely positive and we will provide more resources for year 7 to develop and reflect upon the day.
